A workshop on “Safeguarding” was organized by Bangladesh Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (Baraka) at the Caritas Chattogram Region’s conference hall on Sunday.
Humayun Kabir Khondokar, Deputy Director of the Department of Narcotics Control, Chattogram Metro South, attended the event as the chief guest. In his remarks, he emphasized that a safe and secure environment is an essential component of addiction treatment, underscoring its importance for every rehabilitation center. He praised Baraka for arranging the program and assured continued support for such initiatives in the future.
Muhammad Selim, Special Correspondent and Deputy Chief of Bangladesh Pratidin in Chattogram, was present as the special guest.
The workshop was presided over by Mr. Marcel Ratan Guda, Regional Director of Caritas Chattogram Region, and conducted by Baraka’s Director, Brother Advocate Nirmal Francis Gomez CSC. Baraka’s Network Officer, Shahriar Shimul, moderated the session.
The program saw participation from teachers, journalists, representatives of various addiction treatment centers from Chattogram Metro and the surrounding districts, as well as Caritas Chattogram’s Program Officer, Emdadul Islam Chowdhury.
Also present were Mr. Atanu Barua Ontu, Project In-Charge of Baraka-DIC, and Mr. Abul Bashar Hira, Assistant Field Officer of Baraka Female DIC.
