Commerce, Industry, Textile, and Jute Minister Khondaker Abdul Muktadir stated that although global fuel prices have increased due to the Iran-Israel conflict, this will not affect the upcoming Eid travel in Bangladesh. He emphasized that prices of essential goods are unlikely to rise. However, he cautioned that if the war prolongs, it could cause some strain on the global economy. The minister expressed hope that the conflict would soon end and peace would be restored worldwide. Speaking to journalists at an Iftar and Eid gift distribution event for working-class families at Raignagar Daptaripara Mosque Ground in Sylhet, he assured that the government is fully prepared to maintain normalcy and public safety, as it is an elected government accountable to the people. He also stated that promises made before the election will be implemented step by step, and city-specific issues will be addressed gradually. Sylhet Metropolitan BNP leaders were present at the event.
