The Bangladesh national cricket team began their three-match ODI series against the Pakistan national cricket team with an emphatic victory at the Sher‑e‑Bangla National Cricket Stadium, chasing down a modest target with ease and showcasing dominance in both bowling and batting departments. After opting to field first, Bangladesh bowlers immediately put Pakistan under pressure and never allowed them to settle into a rhythm. Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled against disciplined bowling and was eventually bowled out for just 114 runs in 30.4 overs. The highest scorer for Pakistan was Faheem Ashraf, who managed 37 runs, but his effort was not enough to stabilize the innings or build a competitive total. The star performer with the ball for Bangladesh was rising pace sensation Nahid Rana, who delivered an impressive spell of seven overs, conceding only 24 runs while claiming five wickets to dismantle Pakistan’s batting order. His devastating bowling was complemented by spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who picked up three wickets and played a crucial role in breaking the middle order. Experienced pacers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman also chipped in with a wicket each to ensure Pakistan never recovered. Chasing the small target, Bangladesh started positively but lost their first wicket in the third over when opener Saif Hassan departed for just four runs. After the early setback, the partnership between Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Najmul Hossain Shanto took complete control of the match. The duo built a brisk partnership and reached fifty runs for the second wicket in only 38 balls, shifting momentum firmly in Bangladesh’s favor. Tanzid played aggressively while Shanto anchored the innings with calculated strokes. Tanzid eventually reached his fifth career half-century and remained unbeaten on a brilliant 67 off 42 balls, while Shanto contributed 27 runs from 33 deliveries before being dismissed. With the match already in Bangladesh’s grasp, Litton Das joined Tanzid to finish the chase comfortably. Bangladesh reached the target in just 15.1 overs, losing only two wickets, leaving 209 balls remaining and sealing a commanding victory. The comprehensive win gave Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the three-match series and highlighted the team’s strong form and confidence. Nahid Rana’s destructive bowling combined with Tanzid Tamim’s aggressive batting turned the match into a one-sided contest, leaving fans delighted and setting the tone for what could be a highly competitive series ahead.
