Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the promises made by the government to the people will not change in any way. He made the remarks on Tuesday while inaugurating the Family Card program at the T&T ground in Banani, adjacent to the Korail slum in the capital.

The Prime Minister said that the government will keep every promise it has made to the people. However, due to the situation in the Middle East, there might be some delay in implementing all the commitments. He urged everyone to remain patient.

He said that a government accountable to the people has been established through elections. Within less than a month of taking office, the government has already started implementing the promises made to the people.

The Prime Minister also said that the day is very important and historic. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and said the day is personally emotional for him as well as historic for the BNP and the current government. The Family Card program, which had been planned for a long time, has finally been launched.

Mentioning that half of the country’s population are women, he said that without proper evaluation and empowerment of women, it is not possible to move the country forward. The Family Card project has been introduced to make women economically self-reliant.
