Out of Chattogram’s 16 parliamentary constituencies, BNP has announced candidates in 15 seats. However, Chattogram-14 (parts of Chandanaish and Satkania) remains undecided. With the nomination deadline approaching, party leaders and activists are actively discussing who will receive the party ticket.

Constituency Distribution and Recent Changes

Chattogram consists of 15 upazilas and 34 police station areas. Four constituencies fall within the city, while the remaining twelve are divided between North and South Chattogram. Recently, BNP has changed candidates in several seats, including Sitakunda, Double Mooring, and Bandar-Patenga.

Aspirants in Chattogram-14

Although the party has not officially declared a candidate, several senior and local leaders have already collected nomination forms. These include central committee members, former student leaders, lawyers, and grassroots organizers. All aspirants remain hopeful about securing party nomination.

Delay Linked to Alliance Politics

According to party insiders, the delay was mainly due to discussions around a possible political alliance. There had been speculation that the seat might be left for an alliance partner. However, it is now almost certain that BNP will field its own candidate in Chattogram-14.

Final Announcement Expected Today

With the nomination submission deadline imminent, party leadership is expected to announce the candidate for Chattogram-14 today. Local leaders believe that nominating a party candidate will further strengthen organizational unity and support in the constituency.
