The funeral prayer of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will be held on Wednesday after Zuhr at Manik Mia Avenue and the South Plaza of the National Parliament complex in Dhaka. Following the funeral prayer, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
27 Platoons of BGB Deployed
To ensure smooth completion of the funeral and burial and to maintain overall security, 27 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh have been deployed across key locations in the capital. Security has been strengthened in the areas surrounding Evercare Hospital, Gulshan, the National Parliament complex, and Zia Udyan.
Multi-Layered Security in Place
A multi-layered security arrangement has been established involving police, BGB, the army, and other law enforcement agencies. Special measures have also been taken to manage traffic and crowd control in the surrounding areas.
