Shipping Adviser Brigadier (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain has said that those involved in the killing of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi are currently staying abroad. The government is actively working to bring them back to the country and ensure justice. He expressed hope that the identities of those involved would be revealed within January.
Inauguration of Launch Terminal
The adviser made the remarks on Friday afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling of a name plaque of a key launch terminal in Nalchity upazila, named after Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi. He formally inaugurated the terminal by unveiling the plaque.
He said Osman Hadi was a revolutionary figure, and revolutionaries never truly die—they live on through their ideals. The government is treating the case with utmost seriousness and is continuing diplomatic and administrative efforts to arrest those who fled to neighboring countries.
Family’s Demand for Justice
Osman Hadi’s sister, Masuma Akter, said her brother sacrificed his life for justice. She emphasized that honoring him requires implementing his ideals. The family, she said, seeks justice—not personal gain.
She further alleged that the killing posed a threat to national sovereignty and involved both domestic and foreign forces.
Public Presence and Call for Accountability
Senior officials from the district administration and police, along with local residents from various professions, attended the event. They demanded swift action to bring the killers back to the country and ensure punishment for both the perpetrators and the masterminds behind the crime.
Local residents described the naming of the launch terminal after Shaheed Osman Hadi as a lasting symbol of respect and honor.
