BNP Acting Chairman Tareq Rahman visited the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, the convener of Inkilab Mancha. He later paid tribute and offered prayers at the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

On Saturday, shortly before 11:30 a.m., Tareq Rahman arrived at the site near the University of Dhaka where Osman Hadi’s grave is located. He placed flowers on the grave and participated in prayers, which were led by Abu Bakar Siddiq, the elder brother of Osman Hadi.

Attendance and Security

Senior BNP leaders, members of the party’s standing committee, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka were present during the visit. Law enforcement agencies, including police, RAB, and BGB, were deployed across Shahbagh and the university area to ensure security.

Travel and Schedule

Unlike the previous days, Tareq Rahman did not travel in a decorated bus. Instead, he went to the grave in a white, flower-adorned vehicle. Party leaders and activists were seen standing along both sides of the road.

According to the party’s statement, Tareq Rahman will not visit the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, as no injured individuals from the July uprising are currently admitted there. After the grave visit, he is scheduled to complete national identity card registration at the Election Commission in Agargaon.

Return to the Country

Tareq Rahman returned to Bangladesh last Thursday after nearly 17 years abroad. His homecoming drew massive crowds of party leaders, supporters, and citizens. Following the reception program, nominated candidates returned to their respective constituencies.
