Bollywood superstar Salman Khan turns 60 today. For more than three decades, he has ruled the silver screen with romance and action alike. His journey has been anything but easy—marked by massive success, painful failures, turbulent relationships, controversies, legal battles, and even recent death threats. Yet, standing tall through every storm, Salman Khan remains one of the most popular and influential stars in Indian cinema.

From the Beginning to Stardom

Salman Khan made his debut in 1988 with Biwi Ho To Aisi, but it was Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) that turned him into an overnight sensation. As a romantic hero, he won millions of hearts and followed it up with hits like Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
After a phase of continuous flops that nearly derailed his career, Salman reinvented himself as an action hero with Wanted in 2009. Films such as Tere Naam, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, the Tiger series, and the iconic character of Chulbul Pandey cemented his mass appeal. Although his recent films have struggled at the box office, his stardom remains untouched.

Deep-Rooted Family Values

Born in 1965 in Indore and raised in Mumbai, Salman comes from a film-oriented family. His father, Salim Khan, is a legendary screenwriter. Despite fame and wealth, family remains Salman’s greatest strength. He shares a strong bond with his parents and siblings and celebrates festivals and special occasions together. Time and again, he has said that his family is his biggest support system.

Controversial Love Life

Salman Khan’s personal life has often made headlines. His relationship with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan remains one of Bollywood’s most talked-about love stories. He was also linked to Katrina Kaif, Somy Ali, Sangeeta Bijlani, and later Iulia Vântur. Despite constant speculation, Salman has remained unmarried, often joking that destiny decides everything.

Light and Darkness

Salman’s life has seen both glory and darkness. He faced prolonged legal battles, including cases related to blackbuck hunting and a hit-and-run incident. These cases kept him entangled in courts for years and even led to time behind bars. Eventually, he was acquitted. Though he appears tough on the outside, Salman is known to be emotionally sensitive and compassionate.

Death Threats and Security Concerns

In recent times, Salman Khan has received multiple death threats. Incidents involving gunfire near his residence and threatening messages forced authorities to tighten his security, including the use of bulletproof vehicles. Despite these dangers, Salman maintains a calm outlook on life, believing that whatever is destined will happen.

Salman the Philanthropist

Beyond cinema, Salman Khan is deeply involved in social work through his foundation, Being Human. From supporting the underprivileged during the pandemic to providing aid during natural disasters, he has consistently stepped forward to help those in need. Known for his generosity, Salman rarely turns away anyone seeking assistance.

At 60, Salman Khan continues to be an emotion, a phenomenon, and a symbol of mass hysteria. Even today, thousands gather outside his home just to catch a glimpse of him. On this special day, the message from fans remains the same:
“Happy Birthday, Bhaijaan.”
