BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has stated that the people will not allow any form of “vote rigging” in the upcoming national election scheduled for February 12. He made the remarks while addressing an election rally at the Bhawal Rajbari ground in Gazipur on Tuesday night.

Calling on voters to remain vigilant, Tarique Rahman urged citizens to gather at their respective polling centers early in the morning after performing Fajr prayers, so that no one can occupy the polling stations in advance. He said that over the past 15 to 16 years, people’s voting rights have been repeatedly stolen, and this must not be allowed to happen again.

Highlighting Gazipur’s contribution to the 2024 mass movement, he said the people of the area played a historic role in the struggle to restore democracy. According to him, the current phase is about rebuilding the country and improving people’s lives.

During the rally, Tarique Rahman introduced BNP candidates for all five parliamentary seats in Gazipur and called on voters to support them by casting votes for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. He outlined several development plans for Gazipur, including new industrial zones, low-cost housing for workers, family cards for women, daycare centers, flyover construction, drainage development, and farmer support programs.

Later, at a rally in Uttara, he also sought votes for the BNP candidate in the Dhaka-18 constituency and pledged to address gas and water shortages, traffic congestion, and healthcare needs in the area.
