On Thursday, law enforcement agencies in Bangladesh apprehended 566 individuals during the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt, which was launched by the interim government on February 8 to curb criminal activities and maintain law and order. The operation has led to the arrest of a total of 1,665 people nationwide when accounting for individuals wanted in connection with various criminal cases.
In addition to the arrests, the authorities also recovered two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, five rounds of ammunition, a knife, and a machete during the course of the operation. The government had initiated Operation Devil Hunt to crack down on terrorism and organized crime, aiming to bring offenders to justice.
This extensive operation has been coordinated by the Ministry of Home Affairs, which held a meeting with law enforcement agencies to strategize and implement the action plan. As of now, a total of 7,955 individuals have been arrested under the operation since its launch, showcasing the government's commitment to ensuring safety and security across the country.
