Due to adverse weather conditions, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not attend a public rally in Taherpur, Nadia, in person. Instead, he delivered a 16-minute audio speech from Dum Dum Airport, later acknowledging that several important points remained unaddressed.

In a series of social media posts later that night, Modi explained that bad weather prevented him from attending the rally physically, which is why he could not elaborate on certain key issues during the speech.

Addressing the Matua and Namasudra communities, Modi assured them that his government remains committed to their welfare and rights. He stated that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has ensured their dignified right to live in India.

He also indirectly referred to recent disturbances surrounding a major sports-related event, highlighted the benefits West Bengal has received from central government welfare schemes, and criticised the state government’s governance.

Political analysts believe that by posting the unspoken points later, Modi was attempting to manage the political impact of issues omitted from the audio address.
