Mizanur Rahman Minu has assumed office as the full Minister of the Ministry of Land following the formation of the new government on 17 February 2026.

Elected as a Member of Parliament from Rajshahi-2 (Sadar), Minu is also an adviser to the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. His appointment to the Land Ministry is seen as a strategic move, combining his political experience with administrative insight.

The Ministry of Land oversees critical areas such as land management, distribution of state-owned land, digital record modernization, and ensuring transparency in land services. The new government has identified reforms in land administration and improved public service delivery as key priorities.

Previously, Minu served as the elected Mayor of the Rajshahi City Corporation, where he gained extensive experience in local governance. Observers believe this background will support his efforts to enhance efficiency, accountability, and digitization within the land administration system.

His tenure is expected to focus on simplifying land services, strengthening anti-corruption measures, and expanding digital initiatives across the sector.
