BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is currently in a critical condition and going through a highly sensitive phase of her illness, according to members of the medical board overseeing her treatment. Doctors have stated that there has been no noticeable improvement in her health.
A late-night briefing was held around 12:30 am outside a private hospital in the capital, where physicians informed the media about her current condition. Due to a deterioration in her health, she was shifted from a cabin to the CCU and later transferred to the ICU.
Medical professionals confirmed that both local and foreign specialists are involved in her treatment, and her health is being closely monitored through regular medical examinations.
Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple health complications, including diabetes, kidney disease, heart issues, and respiratory problems, which continue to fluctuate.
Recently returning from the United Kingdom after 17 years, her son Tarique Rahman visited the hospital to see his mother. He spent over two hours there after completing his scheduled activities for the day.
Although there had been discussions about taking her abroad for advanced treatment, doctors have advised against air travel due to her fragile condition. As a result, her treatment is continuing domestically.
