BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has arrived in London for advanced medical treatment. Her son, Tarique Rahman, the Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was present at Heathrow Airport to welcome her.
The air ambulance carrying Khaleda Zia landed at London’s Heathrow Airport at 9:05 AM local time on Wednesday. Following her arrival, her son Tarique Rahman, along with his wife Zubaida Rahman, and other BNP leaders, were on hand to greet her. Among those present at the airport to welcome the BNP leader were MA Malek, President of the UK BNP, General Secretary Koyser M. Ahmad, and several other party members.
After completing the immigration formalities, Khaleda Zia was expected to proceed directly to the hospital via an ambulance from the airport's Royal VIP gate at Terminal 4.
Earlier on Tuesday night, Khaleda Zia departed from Dhaka at 11:10 PM, heading towards London for her medical treatment. She reached the airport at 10:51 PM, and thousands of BNP supporters gathered along the roads to bid her farewell. Party members stood along the streets, holding banners and festoons while chanting slogans, giving a heartfelt send-off to their party leader
