Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has stated that the party is willing to allow additional time for necessary reforms to ensure a fair and impartial election. Speaking at a workers' gathering organized by the Bhola District unit of Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday morning at Bhola Government School grounds, he emphasized the importance of conducting elections that are transparent and free from bias.

He remarked, "If we could wait 15 years for a proper election, waiting two to four more months for a fair process is not significant for us. What matters is whether the election will be impartial and credible. Jamaat-e-Islami is ready to allow that time to ensure neutrality in the election."

Addressing the gathering, Parwar criticized previous administrations, stating that the state institutions and departments have become corrupted under what he referred to as a fascist regime. "Major reforms cannot be achieved in such a short time; this is something an elected government must address. However, to facilitate a free, fair, participatory, and neutral election, the necessary departments must first undergo reforms," he said.

He highlighted key sectors requiring attention, including the police and administration, the electoral system, the judiciary, the constitution, and public administration. Without addressing these areas, no election can be deemed neutral, Parwar asserted.

He called upon the Chief Adviser to carefully review the Reform Commission's report and engage in discussions with political parties to outline a roadmap for elections, even if it requires extending the timeline by six months.

The workers' assembly witnessed a turnout of nearly 50,000 participants from seven upazilas of the district. Jamaat leaders and supporters began arriving at the venue the night before, and by dawn, groups of participants were seen marching towards the meeting ground.

This open gathering marked a significant event for Jamaat-e-Islami in Bhola, as it was the first public assembly held in 18 years. The event generated significant enthusiasm among the party’s leaders and workers, especially within the island district of Bhola.
