A massive crowd has gathered at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka to attend the funeral prayer of Begum Khaleda Zia, BNP Chairperson and three-time former Prime Minister. The funeral prayer is scheduled to be held at around 2:00 pm after Zuhr at the National Parliament complex.
Gathering Since Night
Supporters and party leaders began gathering around the Parliament area from Tuesday night. Despite the severe cold on Wednesday morning, thousands arrived to pay their final respects to the former Prime Minister.
Crowd Continues to Grow
By around 10:30 am, Manik Mia Avenue and its surrounding areas were filled to capacity. People continue to arrive from different parts of the country, with the crowd growing steadily as time passes.
Burial Preparations
Meanwhile, a large number of people were also seen at Zia Udyan, where the mausoleum of martyred President Ziaur Rahman is located. Begum Khaleda Zia will be laid to rest beside her husband, with all preparations for burial being completed with full state honors.
