Government employees gathered in the capital to demand the immediate publication and implementation of the 9th pay scale gazette based on the recommendations of the Ninth National Pay Commission. The rally was held on Friday morning at the Central Shaheed Minar, where members of various government and semi-government offices, along with organizations representing employees under the pay scale system, took part. Speakers at the rally said that despite repeated demands for salary structure reforms, there has been no visible progress, causing growing dissatisfaction among employees. They urged the government to quickly publish the gazette in line with the commission’s report and implement the new pay scale to ensure financial security for public servants in line with rising inflation and the increasing cost of living. The protesting employees stated that they had expected the gazette to be issued within a specific timeframe, but as the deadline passed without any action, they were compelled to launch coordinated programs across the country. They emphasized that the movement would continue peacefully and within the rules until their demand is met. Leaders present at the rally called on employees to remain united and disciplined, urging them not to be provoked and to continue their programs in an orderly manner. At the end of the rally, participants announced a protest procession and pledged to continue a series of programs to draw the government’s attention. According to them, the implementation of the new pay scale would boost employee morale and make administrative activities more dynamic, ultimately contributing to improved public service delivery across the country.
