Authorities have warned the public about fraudulent phone calls being made using the name of State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam and urged everyone to remain cautious. According to an official statement from the ministry, several individuals, local representatives, and government officials have recently received phone calls from the number 01826095318 where the caller introduces themselves using the minister’s name or claims to be one of his relatives. During these calls, the fraudsters reportedly offer various temptations and promises of personal or administrative benefits in an attempt to deceive the recipients. The ministry clarified that neither the state minister nor his office makes such calls or promises any form of personal advantage through unofficial communication. Officials emphasized that these activities are entirely fraudulent and constitute a punishable criminal offense under the law. The matter has already been reported to the relevant police station, and a General Diary (GD) has been filed while legal procedures are currently underway to identify and take action against those responsible. The ministry also urged the public not to be misled by such phone calls or offers and requested that anyone who receives similar calls or obtains information about such fraudulent activities immediately inform the nearest law enforcement authorities so that prompt action can be taken.
