Flight Expert, once Bangladesh’s leading online travel service provider, has reportedly gone offline and shut down its operations, sparking allegations of large-scale financial fraud. Sources claim the company’s owners have fled the country with hundreds of crores of takas belonging to partner travel agencies and clients.
The company’s offices were found locked and inaccessible, while its website and other online booking platforms have also disappeared without any official announcement. Many travel agencies, who had invested substantial sums into the platform for airline ticketing and other services, now face immense financial uncertainty.
Mamunur Rashid from the company’s sales department confirmed the alarming developments, stating that the owner fled the country just the night before. “We are heading to the Motijheel police station now,” he said.
In an internal message shared on the company's WhatsApp group, Flight Expert’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman accused three individuals — Saeed, Hossain, and Sakib — of betrayal. He alleged that during a recent internal meeting, they deliberately shifted all blame onto him in a well-planned scheme that offered him no chance to defend himself. Salman further claimed that the trio withdrew around 3 crore takas, possibly less, and kept it in their possession, effectively triggering the collapse of the company.
Salman added that due to mounting threats and finger-pointing, he has taken leave for his own safety. He expressed regret over the situation, insisting he never intended to abandon the company in this manner.
On social media, the shockwave of the news was swift and widespread. Several users claimed that Flight Expert’s owner fled the country last night. A Facebook post from user Jayita Afrin read, “If a trusted company like Flight Expert disappears overnight, who can we trust anymore?”
A visit to the official Facebook page of Flight Expert shows that their last post was related to Hajj services. The post announced the opening of Hajj registration for the year 2026, along with price details for various pilgrimage packages — a stark contrast to the chaos that followed shortly after.
Founded in March 2017, Flight Expert was launched through a dedicated promotional event and rapidly rose to prominence in Bangladesh’s online travel industry. It offered a broad range of services, including flight bookings for both domestic and international airlines, hotel reservations, visa processing, and guided tours.
The company gained popularity among customers for its affordable ticketing options, attractive promotional offers, and easy payment facilities. These features helped it build a loyal and growing user base over the years, establishing it as a trusted name in the travel sector.
Now, with the sudden disappearance of its leadership and operational shutdown, that reputation lies in ruins — leaving investors, partners, and thousands of customers reeling from a financial and emotional blow.
