Five victims of the recent military jet crash at Milestone School and College remain in critical condition at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, according to an official briefing held Friday (July 25). These patients are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to the severity of their burn injuries.

Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin, Director of the institute, shared the updates during a press conference at the emergency department of the facility. He confirmed that the total number of patients currently admitted in connection to the crash stands at 40, following the deaths of two students earlier in the day.

"Among the 40 admitted, five are in critical condition and are being kept in ICU under close observation. Another ten are listed under the CPR category, indicating serious but slightly less critical conditions. Ten more are in the intermediate or post-operative care category, while fifteen patients are recovering in the general cabin area," said Dr. Nasir.

He added that of the patients placed on life support, two have shown signs of recovery and are now able to breathe without assistance. "We are seeing gradual improvement in several cases. If this continues, we hope to discharge four to five patients tomorrow, on Saturday," he noted.

Dr. Nasir also mentioned the involvement of international medical experts in assessing and consulting on the treatment of the injured. "Medical teams from Singapore, China, and India have arrived and joined discussions regarding the patients’ treatment protocols. They have examined the patients and provided their input," he stated.

The incident, which took place on the premises of Milestone School and College when a military aircraft crashed, has resulted in widespread casualties and a complex medical emergency involving severe burn cases. The national healthcare system, particularly the Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, has been actively engaged in providing advanced care to those affected.

As investigations into the crash continue, the focus remains on the recovery and treatment of the injured. The medical teams are closely monitoring each patient’s progress and are hopeful that more positive developments will follow in the coming days.
