Candidates from 51 Parties Submit Nominations
Eight registered political parties will not participate in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, according to the Election Commission. Candidates from 51 political parties have submitted their nomination papers to contest the election.
Nomination Statistics
The Election Commission stated that a total of 2,570 candidates, including party nominees and independents, submitted nomination papers. In total, 3,307 nomination forms were collected. However, even after the submission deadline, the Commission could not confirm nomination submissions from some parties.
Status of Registered Parties
Currently, 59 political parties are registered with the Election Commission. Registration of one major party has been suspended, while registrations of three other parties have been cancelled.
