Dense fog has developed over various river basins across the country, prompting a cautionary advisory for inland waterway navigation. Reduced visibility caused by fog may create hazardous conditions for vessels operating on rivers.
According to the weather conditions, this situation may persist from early morning until early afternoon. During this period, moderate to dense fog is expected in river areas, with visibility likely dropping to around 100 meters or even lower in some locations.
Passenger and cargo vessels have been advised to operate with heightened caution. Operators are encouraged to reduce speed, ensure navigation lights remain functional, and maintain vigilance—particularly during early morning hours when fog tends to be densest.
At present, no warning signals are required to be hoisted at inland river ports. However, authorities may issue further instructions if weather conditions worsen.
