A large number of people have gathered at Zia Udyan in Dhaka to visit the grave of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Since Friday morning, party leaders, activists, and members of the public have been arriving to pay their respects and offer prayers.
Family Members Pay Tribute
Earlier, close family members visited her grave, including her granddaughter Zayma Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman, wife of the late Arafat Rahman Koko, along with other relatives.
Floral Tributes and Prayers
A significant presence of party supporters, well-wishers, and ordinary citizens was observed at the grave site. Many placed flowers in tribute, while others participated in prayers and supplications.
Security and National Mourning
Enhanced security measures have been put in place at the site to maintain order. Friday marks the third and final day of nationwide state mourning following Begum Khaleda Zia’s passing, with special prayers being held at religious institutions across the country.
Burial
Begum Khaleda Zia was laid to rest with full state honors on December 31 beside the grave of her husband, martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
