In an effort to improve the law and order situation in the country, the Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, announced that the 'Central Command Center' would begin operations this evening, integrating all forces under a coordinated effort.
During a briefing on Sunday (February 9) at the Foreign Service Academy, Shafiqul Alam emphasized that the newly established command center would allow for better monitoring and management of law enforcement across the country. He expressed confidence that this initiative would lead to a rapid improvement in the country’s law and order situation.
Further, the Press Secretary also commented on the national economy, predicting a decrease in food grain prices. He noted that the international prices of food grains were dropping, which would likely have a positive impact on Bangladesh’s market. He also reported that Bangladesh’s economy had shown signs of recovery in the past five months, with a 10% improvement. He was optimistic that inflation would decrease by 7% by July and that the price pressures would not increase during the upcoming Ramadan.
In addition, Shafiqul Alam addressed the issue regarding the land-related complications for the construction of a Korean Economic Zone (EPZ) in Bangladesh. He announced that the land dispute had been resolved, and the necessary documents had been handed over to the Korean authorities. This resolution, he mentioned, would lead to significant Korean investments in Bangladesh. He highlighted that previous complications had resulted in Korean companies shifting their investments to Vietnam, but now that the issue had been resolved, there would be a substantial influx of investment into the country.
