Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the BNP, contesting with the Dhaner Sheesh 🌾 symbol, has announced its election manifesto outlining nine key promises focused on improving living standards, employment, education, healthcare, and the economy. At a formal event in the capital, the party leadership said the manifesto is not merely an electoral pledge but a declaration of a new social and state contract. Among the key commitments is the introduction of a “Family Card” for low-income and marginal households, under which each family would receive a monthly allowance of 2,500 taka or essential goods of equivalent value, with the amount to be increased gradually. To ensure fair prices for agricultural produce, the manifesto proposes a “Farmer Card” that would provide subsidies, easy loans, crop insurance, and state-supported marketing facilities, extending benefits to fish farmers, livestock rearers, and small agro-based entrepreneurs. In the health sector, the party plans to recruit 100,000 healthcare workers nationwide to establish a corruption-free and humane system, along with expanding quality medical services, maternal and child healthcare, and preventive programs at district and metropolitan levels. The education system will be reformed to make it more practical and value-based, with emphasis on primary education, technology support for teachers and students, and the introduction of a mid-day meal program. To secure the future of the youth, the manifesto promises job creation, technical and language skill development, startup and entrepreneurship support, integration with global e-commerce platforms, and merit-based government recruitment. The party also plans to develop sports as a profession by expanding infrastructure and training facilities at district and sub-district levels. For environmental protection and climate resilience, it proposes excavation and re-excavation of 20,000 kilometers of rivers and canals, plantation of 250 million trees within five years, and the introduction of modern waste management systems through public participation. To strengthen religious and social harmony, the manifesto includes welfare programs with honorariums and training for religious leaders of all faiths. In the digital economy, it promises the introduction of international payment systems, development of regional e-commerce hubs, and expansion of exports under the “Made in Bangladesh” initiative. The party said the manifesto reflects a commitment to justice and humanity rather than revenge and aims to build a country where the value of votes is respected, terrorism, corruption, and inequality are eliminated, and no one remains above the law.
