A Bangladeshi youth named Md Munna (20) has been detained by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) for allegedly entering India illegally through the Akhaura border in Brahmanbaria.
According to border officials, Munna crossed approximately 300 yards into Indian territory and was detained before being handed over to Indian police. Authorities said he will be returned to Bangladesh following completion of legal procedures.
However, Munna’s family claims he was taken from the border area rather than voluntarily crossing into India. Bangladeshi border guards confirmed that Munna has prior involvement in drug-related and smuggling cases. Communication between the two border forces is ongoing regarding the matter.
